Area of Instruction: Stringed Instruments Faculty Since: 1995 Credentials: BM, Poznan Music Conservatory, MM, DMA, The Juilliard School Biography: Milewski built a distinguished career throughout the world including the U.S., the former Soviet Union, Germany, Holland, Austria, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Portugal and Belgium. He has won numerous international and national competitions including first prize in the National Violin Competition in Poznan, Poland, and a silver medal in both the Paganini International Competition and the Wieniawski International Competition in Poland. A prize winner in the International Sibelius Competition in Finland, he was a silver medalist in the Queen Elisabeth of Belgium International Violin Competition in Brussels, where he also won the Audience Prize. His recording of the Frank Martin Concerto was praised by American Record Guide as 'by far the best.' An active chamber musician he has performed for several years with the Amati Trio. He studied with Jadwiga Kaliszewska at the Poznan Conservatory, Josef Gingold at Indiana University and Dorothy DeLay and Hyo Kang at Juilliard.
