This organization's goal is to get more money for the arts, arts education for every child, and community development through the arts. This website provides information on arts policy, arts education, advocacy initiatives, and grants information.

ArtsEdge
ArtsEdge: Linking the Arts and Education through Technology ARTSEDGE was established and continues its development under a cooperative agreement between the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts (with additional support from the U.S. Department of Education). It gives updates on what is happening in arts and education as well as information on job listings, grants and funding, competitions, and professional development. Teaching materials include, activities and lesson plans, publishing information, idea exchanges, and web links to educational resources.

Elementary Education
American Music Education Initiative
This organization is a part of the National Music Foundation. It is for teachers who use "American" music in their lesson plans. This page is helpful for not only music teachers, but also for any K-12 teacher whose subject matter incorporates music. This page provides teachers the opportunity to receive grants for their lessons and posts information regarding the finalists and semi-finalists lessons on the website.

American Orff-Schulwerk Association
The American Orff-Schulwerk Association is a professional organization of music and movement educators dedicated to the creative teaching approach developed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. We are joined by our belief that learning about music — learning to sing and play, to hear and understand, to move and create — should be an active and joyful experience.

Arts Education Partnership
Founded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the U.S. Department of Education and managed by the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies and the Council of Chief State School Officers. This site represents a coalition of education, arts, business, philanthropic, and government groups dedicated to promoting the essential role of arts education in student's success. Resources include advocacy pamphlets, videos, speeches, and research reports.

This is an electronic magazine that contains articles on private lessons, elementary education, software reviews, etc. It also has a directory of music businesses.

Music Teacher's Resource Site
This British site features many resources, tips, and ideas on music education.

National Federation of State High School Associations
Offers information on music programs and awards and the NFIMA (National Federation Interscholastic Music Association) Journal.

ATMI WWW Site
ATMI serves as a forum for the scholarly presentation of technical information by and for specialists in the field of computer-assisted instruction (CAI) in music. In addition, another of ATMI's goals is to deliver such information to an audience of non-specialists who are users of music CAI.

Music Instruction Software
This page contains pointers to educational software of interest to music teachers and students. The main focus is freely available software on the net that will help students master the basics of music--note reading, music theory, ear training, and music history. Pathways Through Music
Pathways Through Music is a digital media, self-guided study course. The software based guitar lessons are designed to be flexible and to dynamically meet the student's needs. The site contains information on the beginner course contents as well as finding a guitar. Other features include a guided tour and free software.

Technology in Music Education (TIME)
TIME is a collection of information about music instructional software. Software products including computer programs, hypertext stacks, CD-ROMs, videotapes, videodiscs, and music classroom systems are eligible for listing in TIME. TIME includes publisher's descriptions and independent reviews of all types of music instructional software as well as availability information.
