Music in Other Places
In the 21st century, music education can no longer be narrowly defined as music in the schools. In recognition of the expanded definition of what constitutes an education in music, students in the Graduate Colloquium in Music Education have been exploring the greater Cincinnati community in search of places where people study and make music completely of their own volition. We have discovered many unique groups and have attempted to capture the nature of their music making–aurally and visually–and also map their geographic locations on these maps in the Center for Music Education.
