College-Conservatory of Music
Summer Programs

June 10-16, 2007

Dorotea Vismara Hoffman, artistic director

Accent07 is a chamber music festival offering internationally recognized artist-faculty. Our ensemble activities are supported by daily private lessons in oboe, flute, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, voice, piano, percussion, composition, and by daily orchestra rehearsals. Ensembles and groups are arranged by level as well as by age. We welcome pre-formed ensembles. This one-week intensive program is opened by a faculty concert, and showcases its participants with concerts at the end of the week. Daily master classes provide further performance opportunities.

Accent07 students can also take a daily class of choice: we offer improvisation, composition, orchestra excerpts, theory, and history of music.

Accent07 is open to undergraduate students, as well as strong high school and middle school students with a solid background in either woodwind instruments, brass instruments, stringed instruments, piano, percussions, voice or composition. You can take this CCM summer program for one or two undergraduate credits.

Accent07 sponsors a concerto competition for soloing with the Accent07 orchestra.

Accent07 is closely connected with Music07, the CCM festival of new music for professional musicians and graduate students: the two programs some common faculty, and a joint master class. Our composition students will be scheduled to attend Music07 master classes. The series of Music07 concerts presented each evening offers a high level exposure to new music available to all Accent07 participants.
