Thomas E. Baresel, Assistant Professor of Voice. BM, MM,
Wichita State U. Artist-in-Residence/Faculty, Bay View
Music Festival, since 1994. Founder/Director of CCM
Summer Voice Symposium. Vocal studies with Richard
Cassilly, Jean Cox, George Gibson. Area of specialized study
with Adele Addison and Jan DeGaetani. Performed through-out
U.S., Germany, and Austria in opera, operetta, musical
theater, concert, and oratorio. Sung with the Oregon Symphony,
the Green Bay Symphony, the Wichita Symphony, the
Tulsa Pops, Oklahoma Sinfonia, Bartlesville Symphony,
Wiener Kammeroper in Vienna, Chattanooga Opera, Aspen
Music Festival, Theater-by-the-sea, Village Light Opera,
Music Theater of Wichita, and others. Tenor soloist under
Robert Shaw. Chamber music fellow to Aspen Music
Festival. 1992 Metropolitan Opera Auditions district winner.
National finalist 1992 NATSAA. Winner, Stuart Grant
Auditions 1993. 1993 recipient of Kansas Cultural Trust Liz
Koch Fellowship Award. Students are or have been engaged
by San Francisco Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Michigan Opera,
Pittsburg Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Kentucky Opera, MET.77
Opera in the Park, Royal Opera Copenhagen, Wiener
Kammeroper, Music Theater of Wichita, Greater Miami
Opera, Dayton Opera, Cleveland Opera, the Cincinnati Pops,
and many other theaters and orchestras in the U.S. and
abroad. Faculty, CCM since 1993.
