DRAMA DIVISION

Chairperson: Dee Anne Bryll

The Preparatory Drama Division offers a distinguished faculty of professional actors, directors, dancers, Performance opportunities include open houses for the classes, our annual prep Winter musical, summer theater camps, showcase programs, as well as additional opportunities at CCM and in the community. Many of our students augment their performances here with their school performances as well as area community and professional theater performances. We invite you to explore these offerings.

Program choices: During the school year, Dee Anne Bryll will be available on Saturdays to meet with and discuss any concerns you might have with the program or your student. To help you with your choice of classes, we would suggest the following:

5-8 years: The youngest student

A voice class and/or Imagination Express. We would strongly encourage all students to take a beginning ballet class in preparation for musical theater dance classes.

9-14 years: The middle school student:

An acting or voice class and a musical theater dance or tap class. Students interested in dance should take a tap, musical theater dance AND a ballet class. It is sometimes difficult to choose between all the different classes. We will be happy to help you determine what would be the best choice for your student.

High school students:

If you’d like to take just a class or two, try our high school acting class, voice class, stage combat, scene study, or adult tap class! Meet new friends and enjoy yourself in a stress free and accepting environment!

If you’re looking for a program that offers an in-depth and challenging experience, we suggest the Musical Theater Intensive or Acting Certificate Program.

Hard to get here on Saturdays? Our 15 week classes at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center and the Madisonville Arts Center offer students an opportunity to explore voice, acting and dance in a supportive, non-competitive, friendly environment!

Drama Production Each year the CCM Prep drama program produces a musical. This year the musical will be April 9-11, 2008. Open to all registered prep drama students 8–14 years old. Complete information on this year’s production including audition information will be available at the Open House on September 8.

Please note: These classes are cumulative and build on previous material learned each semester. Therefore students can only register in the Fall for most classes. Exceptions to this policy are made at the discretion of the instructor. Please contact the office if you wish to enter a class mid-year. New classes may be added in the Spring, depending on demand and space.
