Community Outreach

As part of CCM Prep’s mission, we believe that the arts are for everyone. For easier access, we continue to expand our sites in the community. In addition to accessible sites, we are committed to providing opportunities to underserved audiences and are assisting students in need with financial assistance. Partnerships with area arts and service organizations enable us to offer invaluable learning opportunities for our students.

CCM Prep is proud to be a member of the Arts Education Directors of Greater Cincinnati (AEDGC), a local organization dedicated to promoting and furthers arts education for all in this area. CCM Prep is also a member of the STRIVE Arts Education Network, a coalition of organizations that are committed to ensuring quality arts education experiences for students in the Cincinnati Public Schools, and the Covington and Newport schools in Kentucky.

SENIORS
The Clavinova Connection:

STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Special Learners Program:
At CCM Prep, we have teachers who can work with students with special needs in our private lesson program. Please contact the office and talk to our music registrar or the Director. We also offer a class specifically for students with special needs. The class is affordably priced and we offer scholarships for families who may need need assistance. The class is culturally diverse and students are challenged in several ways. Students are diagnosed with autism, gross motor issues, Downs Syndrome, and limited language skills.

Students age 12 and up can enroll in Standing Room Only, an adapted guitar class. These students meet weekly to learn guitar, sing and have fun taught by Betsey Zenk, a certified music therapy teacher as well as a CCM graduate in oboe. In addition to improving reading and fine motor skills, the main goal is that of social interaction and group involvement. The students develop friendships and helping each other with their guitar skills and group interaction abilities. The students perform both on campus and for community events during which the students are able to shine on stage in front of family, friends and the public.

For more information regarding this class, please contact Betsey Zenk at betseyzenk@fuse.net. UC and CCM students volunteer as interns with both of these programs, gaining valuable experience working with children of all abilities.

FINANCIAL AID ASSISTANCE:
CCM Prep offers financial aid to students with limited means. Students must complete the application form. This requires a recommendation from a teacher and proof of financial need. Preference is given to students already participating in a program at CCM Prep. Most assistance is up to 50% of the tuition cost. High school students who request financial aid are assigned a work-study assignment. Failure to complete the assignment will terminate any assistance. All students must reapply for the spring semester. An unfavorable recommendation will result in termination of assistance.
