Group Classes
The CCM Prep Drama and Musical Theater program encompasses classes in acting, musical theater voice, musical theater dance, tap and stage combat.  Classes that require an audition are listed in the program book.  The classes are cumulative and acceptance into a class after the Fall semester begins is based on space and approval from the Chairperson of the Drama Program and the class instructor.

Students are evaluated by their teachers each year. A copy of the evaluation is given to the student and a copy is kept in the student’s file. At the end of the year, the instructors will suggest what class the student should register for in the following year. That information is given to the student and placed in the students file.

At the end of the academic year, each class performs in the CCM Prep showcase, sharing with families and friends what they learned in their classes.

Using a variety of approaches, methods and techniques, acting classes provide students with work in basic acting techniques, improvisation, character development, scene work, monologue study, stage direction, movement, and script analysis. Beginning classes do not require an audition. Advanced levels require an audition or permission of the instructor. Advanced classes build on the knowledge learned in the beginning classes. In addition to basic acting classes, there are acting classes for adults, scene study for advanced high school students, and a stage combat class.

Other options include High School Acting or Scene Study classes. There is a high school musical theater voice class, a stage combat class or musical theater dance and tap classes. PERFORMANCES

Some classes may elect to have their performance in the classroom. In addition, the last Saturday of the Fall semester is designated as a parent observation day.
CCM Prep presents a musical each spring. This year's musical will be presented on March 20-22, 2009. Students are often asked to perform both here at CCM and in the community. Dee Anne Bryll will keep you informed of these opportunities.
CCM Prep offers a variety of summer camps with performing opportunities. The brochure will be available in January.
