Piano
The Prep Piano Faculty works to cultivate a desire to excel in piano among the young and to guide them in the maturing of their skills and the deepening of their experience. Through our Group Piano Programs we provide a strong education in music through the piano for students of a wide range of ages and abilities. Our faculty includes members with expertise in Jazz and the Organ.
A variety of private and group contexts are available including Suzuki Piano, Piano Partners, and Piano Class for Adult Students. Wherever possible, new students are admitted to the program throughout the year. Please call the Music Registrar who will discuss the various options with you.
Students may elect traditional private lessons, group lessons, Suzuki lessons and organ lessons. In addition to lessons, students may participate in Piano Partners taught by Dr. Andrew Millar. Piano Partners cost is the same as the cost for private lessons and is ideal for beginners ages five and above or for other small groups of students of a similar age and level of advancement. Lessons are held in the keyboard laboratory. Solo and ensemble music in contemporary and classical idioms is included, as are opportunities to perform at every lesson.
