The Theatre Design and Production, Sound Design Project Studio is a well equipped multi-purpose laboratory and production space. It functions as a classroom for TD&P Sound courses as well as a fully functional multimedia post-production studio. The core is a Mac G4/dual 2.0GHz computer running OS X10.3.9 with Digidesign ProTools Mix 24 core and farm cards, an 888 24 I/O interface and Protools 6.4.1 editing software with two 19" flat panel video monitors, Genelec near field audio monitors and three Firewire hard drives and a CD/DVD burner.  Additional software includes Peak Pro5, Soundsoap, Digital Performer, and Soundtracks. In addition to the Mac based DAW, a 2.4ghz PC with SFX Pro-Audio playback software an Echo Gina 8 channel interface along with both EASE acoustic modeling software. AutoCAD and Vectorworks are also in the studio.

Additional equipment includes a Mackie 40 X 8 console, a Kurzweil 2500 sampling keyboard and a Roland XP-80 keyboard, Tascam DA88 and DA38 multi-track recorders, DR8 hard disk recorder and various out board playback and processing gear. The studio is also well stocked with sound effects collections from Sound Ideas, Hollywood Edge and other production companies as well as microphones for a variety of recording projects.
