The One You Feed

The Concert

Inside the soul, two wolves are locked in a relentless conflict. Fear thrives in the shadows, The other seeks certainty. In this audacious reimagining we unravel and disarticulate together, seeking it is visceral, an intertwined journey something you feel in every haunting movement. Shauna Steele’s mesmerizing choreography fuses the precision of contemporary ballet with the raw powers of modern. As the struggle unfolds, we twist, coil, spiral, counterbalance, confront; and explore the eternal existential idea of the multitudes we contain, which version of ourselves we feed and where we remain.

This is dance as you’ve never experienced it before the temporal dimensions that interweave and intertwine within the ecosystem of the human told through a pulsating soundscape and haunting visuals. FEED THE NEED!

CCM Dance Leaps Abroad!

This August, the University of Cincinnati CCM Dance Ensemble in collaboration with DanceMocha/Mocha Dance Project will descend on Edinburgh, Scotland to join the global celebration of creative freedom by bringing a powerhouse ensemble of emerging artists to the world’s largest theatre arts festival; trading the studio for the world’s most iconic international stage: the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe.

A Note from the Choreographer: Shauna Steele

Authentic and creative movement offer forms to explore heightened awareness of our authentic self. For me this means being honest with myself on what my embedded spark, my honest drives, and my genuine inspirations are. To me this is an intimate exploration that exists inside in a language that makes sense to me. I then need to find a way to translate that into the connective tissue of movement and a collaborative dialogue with my dancers.

Stay tuned for the date of our Fringe Preview Performance in late April!
