Dr. Wendy DeLeo LeBorgne, B.F.A., M.A., Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an internationally recognized voice pathologist, researcher and educator whose work has helped shape the field of vocal athlete care. In 1997, she collaborated with leaders at CCM to create the nation's first vocal athlete wellness screening and vocal injury prevention program. That groundbreaking initiative established a new standard for performer health and has since been replicated by conservatories and performing arts institutions across the country. Today, Dr. Wendy is widely recognized for her contributions to voice science, clinical practice and performer wellness.

Clinical Expertise and Professional Practice

With more than 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Wendy has dedicated her career to helping professional voice users achieve and maintain peak vocal performance. She spent two decades directing clinical programs at major voice centers, leading multidisciplinary teams of voice pathologists and swallowing specialists in partnership with otolaryngologists. Through her concierge consulting practice, Professional Voice Consultants LLC, doing business as Dr. Wendy Voice, she provides vocal habilitation, vocal injury management, communication consulting and performance coaching for elite vocal athletes, including Broadway performers, national touring artists, opera singers and Grammy Award-winning recording artists.

Teaching, Research and Leadership

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Wendy is a respected educator, researcher and professional leader. She serves as associate professor of speech-language pathology at Mount St. Joseph University and has taught as adjunct associate professor at CCM since 2007, continuing the vocal wellness and injury prevention work she pioneered there. Her academic appointments have also included roles at Penn State University, Shenandoah Conservatory and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. A frequent speaker, author and healthcare advocate, she has held national leadership positions within professional organizations and has been recognized for excellence in research, clinical achievement and service to the profession.
